Family Camping Adventure...

Since we didn’t do much of anything this weekend…I decided I should post the pictures from what we did last weekend. We took our 1987 Honey model RV out to the state park for a little family and friends camping adventure. I know what you must be thinking…”1987 model YIKES” but let me assure you that this bad boy is in MINT condition. My dad bought her a couple of years ago and he paid $2500.00 for her…that’s right…two thousand five hundred dollars…and she only has 50 thousand miles on her too. Sure the inside is a bit dated…but hey we can work with that. It offers a cool dry place to sleep…a place to use the bathroom and a place to wash up and get showered…and that’s ALL I need when I want to go camping. After the last tenting experience we had…I will NEVER again even attempt that kind of camping. This was our first family camping adventure and Jolea thought it was the coolest thing ever. Our good friends The Morrow’s also have a camper…it’s double the fun when you have friends to camp with. Jolea and Jillian are pretty good buds and they did a great job of entertaining each other. We grilled hot dogs and jalapeno poppers and snacked all day long. Some of the kids went fishing...we played washers and ladder golf...sat around the campfire making smores and listening to CJ (Johanna's hubby) play the guitar. It was time well spent with family and friends and we do look forward to doing it again. Next time...we might venture a little farther than Buffalo Gap :-)

Here she is...in all her glory..."The Honey"

A Birthday Celebration...

Last Friday night I got to spend the evening with some of my favorite GAL PALS…Bren…Johanna…Anna…and Muah! My sweet friend Anna had a birthday last week and we wanted to celebrate in style. We headed to the Swanky Warehouse Martini Bar downtown. It’s such a cute place…a little piece of a big metro city tucked away right here in Abilene Texas. I love all the modern décor and retro touches too. The comfy lounge couches all decked out with blingy pillows and savvy ceiling to floor fabric panels and the perfectly dressed tables…OH SO CUTE!!! And did I mention the Martini’s??? I don’t even like Martini’s but their Martini’s are to-die-for!!! Might I suggest “The Hills” it’s my all time FAV!!! Here are a few pictures from our evening out on the town!!! If you and your girlfriends haven’t been…you should go!!! I don’t know about yall but my guy has NO DESIRE to go to such a “chicky” establishment, and that’s why it’s a G.N.O hotspot for sure!!!

The Warehouse ( I love that damask projection thingy...so cool)

Yummy Martini's....

A special something for the birthday girl...

Happy Birthday Anna...

Johanna and Muah...(((HUGS)))

I'm pretty sure she is going to end my life for posting this one...but it was just TOO funny...sorry Honey...it's payback for all those facebook pictures you put on the internet!!! Love you!!!

Phases...

Oh the many... many... many... phases we have gone through recently...does anyone else out there have a child that does this? I guess you could say I adore each and every one of them and wanted to share them with anyone who reads this blog.

Phase # 1: This girl does not leave home without her shades...check her out

Phase # 2: Jolea is all about having her toenails painted...its a different color at least twice a week :-)

Just look at those chubby little toes...she mostly prefers purple or orange

I am SO HAPPY MOMMY...

Phase # 3: She is digging playing "dress up"

Phase #4: Going to the movie store

I recently introduced her to going to the movie store to pick out movies...I have since then gone totally BROKE trying to support this habit. This is her FAVORITE movie right now...so much so, that the Easter Bunny brought it in her basket. I could have bought it 10 times with all the money I spent in renting it...Duh

This is another MAJOR favorite...although we dont own this one yet...anyone out there have one they wanna sell me?

We did this fancy picture on the computer...and she thought it was the COOLEST thing EVER...God Bless the makers of the I.Phone :-)

Phase # 5: Orange...Orange...Orange...she is totally loving all things Orange.

All these quirky little stages are what make her so very funny to her daddy and I. What will she come up with next?

Jolea Gets Her First Big Girl Haircut...

Oh this little girl of mine cracks me up sometimes. Our first "attempt" at a haircut was abruptly interrupted when she started kicking, screaming and squirming trying to get away from Angela, my beloved hairdresser. Well…that was then…and this is now! She saw Mommy getting a haircut and decided that she needed one too. She looked at me and sweetly said “Jolea need haircut Mama” I wouldn’t want to deny this little princess of getting beautified…so up into the chair she went! She was such a big girl the whole time except she did not like the cape draped around her neck so we had to take that off. The rest was history.

She had this SERIOUS look on her face the whole time...

A special THANKS to Angela @ David Avery Salon for being so awesome to me and my girl! She really is Da'Bomb...if your looking for a hairdressor give her a call.

Easter Then...Easter Now...(A little late I know)

Hello....Hello....is anybody out there? I have completely fallen of the blogger's bandwagon...shame on me. I am doing a few catch up posts because I am home from school today! OMG...yesterday I had the funk...the poopy, fever, chills, body aches and massive headache YUCKIES...I really thought I might die. Low and behold here I am today still alive and a little bored so I decided to update the blog. Starting with Easter of course.

Here is Mommy’s little darling for Easter 2009…remember this?

And here she is for Easter 2010…

Can you believe the difference? I just can’t! She went from looking like a little baby to looking like a sweet little girl almost overnight. She is already on her way to 3 years old and these special holidays are getting to be so much fun. Her little chubby face just lights up with excitement and it’s the most precious thing I have ever laid my eyes on.
This one is my favorite...

Found an Egg Ya'll...

Jolea had 2 Easter baskets this year…one from Mommy and Daddy (a.k.a the Easter Bunny) and one from Grammy and Poppy (a.k.a Easter Bunny # 2). She absolutely loves to hunt the Easter eggs and we did this for SEVERAL days past the Easter holiday. She got so many goodies in her baskets and she got a sweet package in the mail from her other Grandparents… (Andy’s Mom and Dad)! They sent her all kinds of things…including the basket that we used this year, jelly beans (which she loved) and a sweet stuffed bunny that is holding a football…of course. Thanks to EVERYONE for making it such a sweet day.

We had a delightful lunch at Grammy and Poppy’s house and a nice little nap afterwards! It was a beautiful day spent with the ones I love the most.

I hope everyone had a blessed holiday...I continue to count the blessings that have been laid before my very eyes...God is Good.
